My True Love

As I ponder and contemplate of that glorious day when I finally depart this vast oasis called Earth to go home,

To meet up with my Father who’s waiting on me patiently, sitting on His throne.

I ask Him often, so dude when am I coming home,

And He looks at me, wistfully saying, not today, but don’t worry, you are never alone.

So I strut back to my abode waiting on The Benevolent One, because He’s gonna give me another assignment,

Saying, Mini-Me “here you go” and it’s heaven sent.

So daily, I go about on my chores,

Because I know The Grand Poobah has something much more in store.

And every time It’s always increasingly obvious He’s trying to keep me walking a straight line,

And at the same time, forever tripping me up, it’s often, like I’m losing my mind.

Then I stop and realize, He’s only doing it for my own good,

And it’s also crystal clear and completely understood.

I’m here and my sole purpose is to glorify His name, who art in heaven,

To always remember, He’s the one who taught me how to count to seven.

Whatever time I have left, and whatever I have to offer,

Is much better than what’s in the other coffer.

No, I’d better continue to walk this straight and very narrow line,

Otherwise, I’ll be floating face down in the water because I’ve run out of time.

That was the nightmare I had last night and I woke up screaming,

I asked my dad (God) and He told me the meaning.

He said, you need to get your ass in gear,

Do you hear?

So here I am today,

Because my dad wants to play.

The name of His game,

Is always the same.

Do what I say,

Or you will pay.
