Blog Post Five

And then there was light. Effective 11:30pm on 13 Aug 2022, Lillypollyannagalleria.com is active on the internet. Hmmmm, there were no fireworks, no big hoopla, not even a warm welcome. But guess what? It's all good in the neighborhood and I plan to have big fun and do my small part to make this world a better place. Going to start by creating a few pieces to get this ball rolling. Just a nibble here and there. Shortly thereafter, better things will flow.

To be honest, I haven't done any painting in over 30 years, so I gotta get my groove back. I was working on that 1st painting about 2 weeks ago and towards the end of it, I discovered I had just destroyed it. Everything was fine up until putting on the final touches, then everything went downhill. (When I first started painting over 50 years ago, I originally began with watercolors, which mistakes, quite often can be corrected. Acrylics are usually not forgiving, sometimes, but mostly, you're out of luck.) So I stopped, put that painting away, because I won't be able to sell it. Yeah, looks bad, but I've decided to keep it for myself. Gonna finish it within a week or so, and it's gonna be my own little Picasso. Yeah, I really distorted that picture, but it wasn't intentional. I kinda like the weirdness of it. Gives it character, in a Pablo sort of way. Hope he likes it!

Revelations

Rose, you need to stay in your lane and tell Mr. Know-It-All, I got this. He put me down here for a reason. I can't keep asking Him everytime something goes amiss. I utilize my best judgement to do what needs to be done. Understand?

Don't tell Him anything, He knows how I roll. Besides, He knows what I'm gonna do, not do and everything else a year from yesterday. You're in heaven with Him, you got some super powers also, and probably know quite a bit beforehand.

You know what I used to do, and my position in the organization. If I wanted to, which I don't want, I could go back and assume the same role…

Back to our regularly scheduled program

So here I am, sitting in my studio contemplating the next step in this long overdue odyssey. One step, one day at a time. I'm in no hurry. I want to partake in this journey and soak up the sunshine. Yes, today is going to be a great day. A day filled with joy and happiness. Finish up this painting and start on the next ones. Yes, within 24 hours I should have about 4 additional ones to upload. Well, that's the plan. So I'm off.
