The Boogie Man
I’m there when you go to sleep,
Look around, even as you weep.
The moment comes and it goes,
Not a care in the world as it flows.
Fear of the unknown,
The pit in your stomach as it groans.
Exactly what is one to do,
It happens to everyone, not just a few.
Ever since the beginning of time,
I’ve been trying to find,
Those who have the utter fear,
When they hear my name, in their ears.
Searching everywhere, I’m still looking,
Going from house to house and I see you all cooking,
But, no one is preparing anything to eat,
As the multitude of peeps make devilish plans to “trick or treat”.
My mischievous children are all the same,
It appears no one on the planet knows my name.
There are just a select few,
Who is in the midst among you,
That is aware the time has finally come,
