Ms. Peabody is the librarian at Woodson Library in East L.A. She’s known not to mince words, and sometimes no words are necessary. Here, she puts a finger to her lips, meaning tone it down and be very quiet. Everyone knows to obey her. Although now she’s mild-mannered, once upon a time she was legendary.

Ms. Peabody is an “O.G”.

You never know, you might be living next door to another Ms. Peabody. Size doesn’t always matter. Ms. Peabody was a menace to society back in her day, a known enforcer. The Crips and Bloods paid their due respect to her. With good reason: 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo, 3rd degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu and Judo among other things.

You can’t always judge a book by it’s cover. The world in which we live there are so many things happening. As we go about our day to day activities: at home, at school, at work, on social media, remember, if you can’t say anything nice, as Ms. Peabody says,

“Be Quiet”.

Let’s make this world a better place. One day, one step at a time. And keep an eye out for Ms. Peabody wannabes (she had a lot of students).
