The Cloth

Not many are capable of becoming one who’s privileged to wear the cloth of God,

Way too many are perpetrators, whore-mongers and are in no way a lightning rod.

Someone who speaks concerning our Father from above, is and will be known as a true believer,

Those whom are before them, knows and are willing receivers.

However, Satan is and has always been hell-bent on twisting the word,

And he deceives so many so-called people of the cloth, in which in turn perverts what’s heard.

I suggest anyone out there who really wants to get closer to God,

Talk to Him directly, and he’ll come and speak, and you can be the lightning rod.

Most so-called religious leaders aren’t really leaders, neither are they religious at all,

Test them and they’ll fail. Some are really good deceivers when you call.

They’ll answer every question with an effortless ease,

Will be there to counsel those in the time of need.

However, beneath that outer shell, lies underneath the surface a ravenous, deceitful, ill-minded creature,

So be mindful of those smooth talking, silver-tongued outward features.

You can’t judge a book by it’s cover and I really do know,

Once upon a time, I actually let a lot of things flow,

Through these (once upon a time) smooth talking, silver-tongued lips,

I’ve sunk a few thousand ships.

Yes, most of those peeps wound up going to hell, but it wasn’t because of me,

They were already hooked before, they were finally set free.

They went home,

Where they belong.

Look, before you leap,

Think, before you speak.

And always, be mindful of the company you seek,

Because, wherever you go, it’s forever: God and Satan, both play for keeps!
